About the Head of Chinese
Dr. Yong Chen is a highly experienced educator and consultant in Chinese language and culture. Before moving to Australia, he was an Associate Professor in China, teaching subjects like Chinese language, society, politics, and culture—while also supervising master’s students.
He holds a PhD in Law and Politics, and is currently completing a second PhD in Chinese language and culture education. Dr. Chen has also served as a thesis reviewer for China’s national graduate education body, reflecting his academic excellence and deep knowledge of both language and culture.
With strong experience in leadership, education, and human development, Dr. Chen brings a personal and insightful approach to supporting students of all ages. He understands how to help learners succeed—whether they’re preparing for school exams, learning about Chinese society, or exploring cultural identity.
